Home Run Derby 2010 circles the bases for charity

It’s All-Star break time in Major League Baseball, and of course the Home Run Derby 2010 is here, too. It may just be for fun and not mean anything within the standings, but its value to charitable organizations – thanks to the “Go to Bat” program of Major League Baseball and State Farm insurance – cannot be overstated. Baseball fanatics choose the charity, and players make an effort to go long. In addition, a trip to the 2010 World Series and charitable donations to the Boys and Girls Clubs of America are within the mix.

Home Run Derby 2010 – Aiding America

Home Run Derby 2010 and State Farm’s “Go to Bat” game will make things that much brighter for charities above and beyond the baseball world. Fans who registered at the “Go to Bat” site earlier in the 2010 season are selected randomly by State Farm for individual weekly prizes (a $ 100 charitable donation to that fan’s selected charity). Via an online Home Run Derby 2010 game, fans can up the chances of selection, which their chose charities certainly don’t mind. Out of 10 weekly winners, one will be chosen for the grand prize of a trip for two to the 2010 World Series. ”Go to Bate” will run from the beginning of the second half to September 26.

Home Run Derby 2010 offers even more charity gold

It doesn’t matter whether it is Miguel Cabrera, Corey Hart, Matt Holliday, David Ortiz, Hanley Ramirez, Nick Swisher, Vernon Wells or Chris Young who sends the most home runs to the bleachers at Anaheim’s Angel Stadium, the Boys and Girls Clubs of The United States will come out on top. State Farm launches $ 3,000 to the Boys and Girls Clubs of The US with each homer hit during Home Run Derby 2010, and an additional $ 17,000 for each “Gold Ball” hit – that’s a home with one out left to go. In addition, one local chapter of the BGCA will win $ 50,000, while the seven others from the Orange County, Calif., area will take home $ 10,000 each. But that’s not all – the fan-chosen charity with probably the most support gets $ 25,000 more from State Farm.

Who will win Home Run Derby 2010?

Corey Hart is a dark horse with a big time bat. He’s the hottest hitter of the group as competition commences.
