Pastor Fred Phelps claims gunman Loughner is a hero

Controversial pastor Fred Phelps with the Kansas-based Westboro Baptist Church has spoken out concerning the terrible shootings in Tucson, Ariz., reports The Stir. Regrettably, Phelps’ position is the victims deserved to be gunned down by "soldier hero" Jared Lee Loughner. That involves a 9-year-old girl who was merely in the wrong place at the wrong time. Where does Phelps get his money to travel and boycott all these funerals, someone has to be giving him a personal loan of some sort.

Was it free speech or hate speech by Fred Phelps

There was no compassion in Jared Lee Loughner's heart when he gunned down Rep. Gabrielle Giffords along with others. It is said that it was a higher power being followed by Loughner. While the U.S. Constitution grants individuals the right to free speech, resolving where to place the line before hate speech – of which Fred Phelps and other members of the Westboro Baptist Church have been accused in the media – has proven to be a legal quagmire.

Currently on the docket for the Supreme Court of the United States is a case in which Fred Phelps and the Westboro Baptist Church are being accused of using hate speech during their protests at the funeral of an Iraq war veteran. The dead soldier’s father was initially granted millions of dollars in damages by a Baltimore federal court, but that ruling was later overturned by an appeals court.

'Thank God for the violent shooter,’ according to Phelps

A loaded and concealed Glock-19 went with Jared Lee Loughner to the Tucson, Ariz, Safeway which was a higher power being followed according to Fred Phelps interpretation of the Bible. In Phelps’ mind, it was the will of God that Gabrielle Giffords and five others were killed and 12 wounded. The homosexuality and divorce supported by the victims is what got them this harsh Justice, according to Phelps. These are things that the Westboro Baptist church is very against. He thinks even the 9 year old girl had wronged society and said it was a shame more didn't die.

According to The Stir, "neither common sense nor respect" are used in the Westboro Baptists Church. This includes Fred Phelps.
