Miami hostage scenario at Coral Gables Bank - Explosive device remains

There were hostages taken near Miami today. The situation was in the Coral Gables, Florida Bank of America. It is possible that there was a kidnapping linked to this Miami hostage situation. Investigations into the connection could be ongoing. All hostages had left the building less than four hours following the scenario started. Hostages kept at Coral Gables
Thursday night, there was a kidnapping associated with the Coral Gables Bank of America heist. An explosive device was strapped to the person who was kidnapped. That person entered the Coral Gables bank. At 8 a.m., officials were notified of the Miami-area hostage situation and began their response. U.S. 1 in both directions, Metrorail, the nearby University of Miami, and two elementary schools were all locked down during the response.

Coral Gables Bank robbery linked to home attack the night before

The bank robbery in Miami has been connected to a home invasion on Thursday — an attack that might have also been a kidnapping. Police are on the lookout for two individuals driving a red Mustang. It was a Coral Gables Bank of America employee that was strapped to the bomb. Nobody is certain yet if those responsible for this crime actually entered the bank. There is no word yet if the crime at the Coral Gables Bank of America was a financial institution robbery. It is possible the bomb and Miami hostage situation were intended to create a distraction.

Bomb diffused following the Miami hostage situation ended

The Miami-area Coral Gables Bank of America has confirmed that several individuals were held hostage during the situation. The last hostage left Coral Gables Bank relatively easily. By 11:20 a.m., every person had exited the structure. However, FBI and police confirm the bomb squad is still on the scene. The bomb, which was originally reported as strapped to the kidnapped employee, may still be inside the Coral Gables bank. Until everything was declared safe, the highways, public transportation, and schools were all kept closed.
