"American Idol" contestant Crystal Bowersox went to the hospital yesterday, and the show switched up the schedule to accommodate her. The boys performed last night instead of the girls, who will perform tonight. I've got the scoop on why Crystal Bowersox went to the hospital and some thoughts on how it will affect the competition.

Crystal Bowersox went to the hospital because of diabetes complications, according to Us Weekly. However, though her absence pushed the girls' competition to tonight, Crystal Bowersox's hospital stay was short and sweet. The magazine reports that she is cleared to perform tonight, when the "American Idol" competition will resume with the girls' performances.
It's a bit early to be betting your paycheck loans on who is going to take the title, but I think Crystal Bowersox will remain a competitor on "American Idol" for quite some time. Furthermore, Crystal Bowersox's hospital trip can only improve her chances.
