Even Elyse Porterfield says Jenny DryErase quitting was a joke

Over the last two days, Jenny DryErase (along with the Slater, the Jetblue flight attendant) has become an icon for disgruntled employees everywhere. On Wednesday morning, TheChive.com revealed the whole Jenny DryErase story was a hoax, with actress Elyse Porterfield playing the part of Jenny.

TheChive.com uses Elyse Porterfield to make their joke

Two brother work together to run TheChive.com as a humor website. First the “Jenny DryErase” joke was thought up and then done by the boys who hired Elyse Porterfield to play the part. Elyse Porterfield is an actress that had just lately moved to Los Angeles from Colorado. She is a quite cute girl meaning the new Facebook group suggesting “Jenny DryErase” pose for Playboy has a ton of followers already.

Humorous hoaxes in the past

The “real” news story has had other hoaxes done besides “Jenny DryErase” before. Individuals post their stories online to have them instantly picked up for a hoax. One of these is the Donald Trump Tip hoax saying an $82 tip was left by Trump as a tip. It can also be seen on TheChive.com’s previous hoax, the “Teen Texting Disaster.”. Either way, it’s a formula that has been used numerous times: take something seemingly real, mix it with something believable but slightly out there and add in a famous figure or attractive woman.

Elyse Porterfield gets job offers

TheChive gets a lot of advertising to their website from “humor hoaxes” like this. Elyse Porterfield is an actress who was born and raised in Colorado and has been working in Los Angeles. In the past she has been hired as an Angelina Jolie look-alike. Her official Facebook page has grown to more than 3,000 “likes,” and it appears she may get even more exposure from this hoax. ”Jenny DryErase” helped advertise TheChive.com quite well giving it a name to recognize when Elyse may be the one who really gets benefits from this
