South Park Creators Receive Death Threats

sp1-240x152When ”South Park death threats” may sound like an episode title created by Parker and Stone, Episode 200 of South Park created very real death threats. After a tongue-in-cheek depiction of Mohammad, a “radical” site posted a very detailed warning saying that Trey and Matt may well end up dead. The South Park death threats have not yet elicited an official response, though Parker and Stone may want to get unsecured personal loans to ensure they have private security.

South Park death threats echo other murders

The specific South Park death threats posted this morning also make several references to the murder of Theo Van Gogh. Theo Van Gogh was the Dutch artist who was murdered in 2004. There were graphic photographs of Theo Van Gogh’s death and near-decapitation attached to the South Park death threats. Fox News interviewed the author of the intended South Park death threat post, and he said the post was “not a threat, but is really a likely outcome” and warning to Trey Parker and Matt Stone.

South Park death threats follow episode 200

Abu Talhah al Amrikee, a resident of New York, was prompted to post the South Park death threats after seeing South Park episode 200. The South Park death threats focused on the depiction of Mohammad within the episode, which was making fun of the concern of showing Mohammad. At the end of Episode 200, Mohammad is depicted, disguised in a bear suit. During the episode, the depictions of Mohammad are covered with a large black bar that has “Censored” over the bar. South Park has depicted Mohammad within the past during “Super Best Friends” episodes, though those episodes did not lead to South Park death threats.

South Park death threats included specific information

The South Park death threats might be called “just a warning” by the author, but the posting integrated very specific information. The layout of the mansion that Trey and Parker shown was incorporated in the post that had the South Park death threats. Comedy Central may offer easy cash loans to the South Park staff to get body guards, though the network has offered no comment on the South Park death threats yet.
