I Heart Boobies bands mix schooling dispute

Kayla Martinez, 12, and Brianna Hawk, 13, wanted to show their support for cancer of the breast awareness. "I Heart Boobies" is the slogan that adorns the wristbands they once wore to schooling – once because Easton Area Middle Schooling in Pa suspended the girls for wearing them to school. The middle-school girls questioned the school’s right to suppress their right to free speech, so the American Civil Liberties Union got involved. The organization is suing the Easton schooling district on behalf of Kayla and Brianna. Source of article – I Heart Boobies breast cancer bands spark suspensions by Personal Money Store.

Much ado regarding $4 ‘I Heart Boobies’ wristbands

The first case for the breast cancer awareness product was filed with the "I Heart Boobies" lawsuit that was filed for Kayla Martinez and Brianna Hawk, the ACLU thinks. Produced by the Keep A Breast Foundation of Carlsbad, Calif., "I Heart Boobies" rubber wristbands are very popular among students. The slogan "trivializes a severe illness" and makes inappropriate discussion more likely according to Easton schooling officials. Currently, the bracelets are banned in many schools across the U.S.

A rigid dress code

Kayla and Brianna had their parents’ permission to wear the "I Heart Boobies" wristbands, however school authorities felt they posed too much of a distraction. After the schooling principal spoke with the girls, they agreed to wear the rubberbandz inside-out, which obscured the "I Heart Boobies" slogan but left a cancer of the breast awareness site URL exposed. The Easton Area Middle Schooling changed its mind later. It decided that the dress code was getting broken with them.

Argument about the vulgarity

The Easton schooling rule apparently takes issue with the truth that the word "boobies" seems on the "I Heart Boobies" bracelets. Apparently teachers are an exception to the rules though. During Oct, Cancer of the breast awareness Month T-shirts were worn to schooling by the teacher. The T-Shirts had the word "breast" on them. The ACLU has a plan for its free speech lawsuit, reports the AP. It will say that "boobies" may be "silly and irreverent, however not lewd or indecent," which makes it okay. The demand the American Civil Liberties Union has is that the First Amendment rights of Kayla and Brianna be reinstated. The "I Heart Boobies" ban would have to be lifted. The suit also would have the girls have the expulsion lifted from scholastic file while also allowing the girls to attend all school functions once again.
