Accusations of Tea Party racism soar again in National Association for the Advancement of Colored People report

The NAACP and also the Tea Party are at it again. The NAACP has issued a report stating that racism is present in the ranks of the Tea Party—charges it leveled last summer after racially-charged Tea Party protests. The report by the NAACP, titled “Tea Party Nationalism,” alleges that white supremacists, racists and bigots are tolerated by the membership of the movement.

Tea Party Nationalism report

A Tea Party Nationalism statement by the NAACP was done. It focuses on the ties between “acknowledged racist hate groups” and Tea Party Factions. The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People explains something important in the Tea Party report. It explains that it is not throwing a blanket over the movement or allegation though. A forward to the record by NAACP president Ben Jealous states that most Tea Party members are “sincere, principled individuals of goodwill.”. Next he points out that you will find racist groups linked to the Tea Party that “should give all patriotic Americans pause.” This is what the Tea Party Nationalism shows.

The bad ones within the Tea Party

You will find signs of Tea Party rallies with racial epithets about Obama based on the NAACP Tea Party statement. Tea Party Nationalism recounts incidents where black congressmen accused Tea Party members of shouting racial slurs at them during a March 2010 protest against health care reform. Tea Party leaders were challenged by Jealous to denounce the protests that have racial discrimination in them. He also asked that they denounce links to the “birthers” who say Obama isn’t a United States citizen and also the racism within the protests.

The resolution with NAACP Tea Party

The NAACP members voted in order to condemn the Tea Party for racism last July. This had been at a National Association for the Advancement of Colored People convention in Kansas City where the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People Tea Party feud began. The resolution ignited a media fight and certain Tea Party members reacted by calling the NAACP racist. The NAACP Tea Party resolution had been a lot like Wednesday’s Tea Party Nationalism statement in that is told the Tea Party leaders to make things better since there shouldn’t be racism within the Tea Party. Tea Party rallies had racism at them, according to Tea Party Patriots. They also said it would not be tolerated if it were happening.
