Removing Gibson from “The Hangover 2″ might have been largely thanks to Zach Galifianakis. Including Gibson within the movie was not a universally popular idea, apparently. Protests from a large number of cast and crew members over Gibson being involved was cited as a reason by director Todd Phillips. The last few years have seen Gibson embroiled in a number of scandals. The “Mel Gibson tapes” saga has severely tarnished his image.
Galifianakis might have been in charge of leading the demonstration
Zach Galifianakis may are in charge of “The Hangover 2″ demonstration by cast and crew including Mel Gibson. ”The Hangover 2″ is a show where Galifianakis may be reprising his role. Fox News accounts that although there wasn’t much to be say, Galifianakis does say that he had been in a “deep protest” with the newest film. Support came with him evidently. The movie will no longer have Mel Gibson appearing in it, director Todd Phillips announced. He was slated to appear as a tattoo artist, but the role will go to somebody else instead.
Scandal’s large impact
Mel Gibson has been involved in high profile scandals over the last few years, and seems like people are less willing to associate with him, personally or professionally. His talent agency dropped him even after the Oksana Grigorieva and Mel Gibson tapes. ”The Beaver” is a film Gibson stars in though. Jodie Foster, reports The Guardian, is his co-star and director. It hasn’t been given a release date. Foster has talked about Gibson within the press. She supports him though. In “Maverick,” she co-starred with Mel Gibson previously.
Close of a profession
The off screen scandals have left Gibson with an ending profession. There can be a comeback eventually. It will not be anytime soon though. Drunken driving arrests alone may not kill careers, but allegations of abuse certainly don’t do wonders for his public image.
