Facebook search engine being powered by Bing

Bing search engine outcomes will now be integrated both directions with Facebook, based on both companies. Bing will integrate social network search into its personalized results. Microsoft is wishing the Facebook partnership will help it overtake Google.

Facebook and Bing partner together

Facebook will now be integrating Bing search results and vice-versa. Microsoft and Facebook outlined two of the biggest features during their press announcement today. First, if searching for a person, Bing will use your Facebook profile to return outcomes of people you are most likely to know. Called “social distance,” this feature makes decisions depending on your friends list. Bing will also cater search engine results to other things on your Facebook page. Anything you or a friend has “liked” will make the search work better. Using Facebook connect, you can link your Facebook and Bing account which lets the individual ranking of search engine results do its thing.

Bing gets to be expanded with Microsoft

Bing is being integrated with Facebook for one specific reason. Microsoft is competing with Google and trying to win. Yahoo! search results can be integrated into Bing ultimately also. These two moves make Bing the strongest competitor so far to Google’s search rankings and results. Microsoft is making wise decisions to try and take over the sector for search outcomes. Google and Bing will likely be having the argument for a long time. Microsoft shares went up 65 cents apiece following the announcement was made.

Switching off the Facebook integration

Your search results for Facebook and Bing don’t have to be connected. The integration could be turned off easily. There have not been any details on how to do this particularly yet. You’ll probably end up having readjust your privacy settings on both web sites in order to get the Facebook/Bing integration turned off.
