Impala recall begun by GM because of security concerns

General Motors has begun an Impala recall. The recall is because of issues about the front seat belts. There are 300,000 affected vehicles. The seat belts can come apart in a collision in the front seats due to a defective mounting. Only two model years are impacted, though. Owners of the affected models can be contacted by General Motors.

Recall is massive with Impala

Over 300,000 vehicles are likely to have to be repaired by GM with the Impala recall which has a seat belt defect. The problem is found in two of the Chevrolet Impala model years. This is what USA Today explains. Do you own a 2009 or 2010 model year of the Chevrolet Impala? You have to contact GM or the nearest Chevrolet dealership immediately. You can also call a number to get info on the Impala recall. 800-630-2438 is the number to call for this. Owners of the cars will be getting notices from General Motors and dealerships about the recall. It is really easy to fix a defective seatbelt. Owners won’t have to pay anything to have this done.

Seat belt deficiency makes a recall take place

GM does not want anybody to get killed or hurt by these problems. That is why an investigative division is there specifically to catch the problems. CNN accounts that no injuries or fatalities occurred because the seat belt deficiency had been there. The defect in the Chevy Impala recall is in the mounting of the front seat belts. The issue is the belts is probably not properly anchored to the lap belt pretensioner. The danger is that in a crash, the belt can become separated from the mounting for the front passengers.

Regular repair makes this lucky

There begun to be a lot of warranty maintenance on seat belts. This caused GM to investigate the situation. By June 2009, there had been 9 grievances about this. The recall begun as a precaution after 32 grievances had come in by August 2010. There were not any accounts of injury or death. By the end of October, all owners ought to have their automobiles inspected.
