Johnny Depp visited the Meridian School in London today, almost entirely unannounced. Thanks to the request of a 9 year old student, Johnny Depp walked into an all-school assembly, dressed as the iconic pirate. Though the student had initially asked for help with a mutiny, they just visited instead.
Johnny Depp gets Jack Sparrow letter
Johnny Depp plays the character Jack Sparrow in “Pirates of the Caribbean” which led nine-year old Beatrice Delap to write a letter for Jack Sparrow. She asked for help from Sparrow at school with mutiny. Depp evidently received the letter and decided to act on it. It was not too difficult to get over there for Depp. He had been already in London working on the new “Pirates of the Caribbean” movie. The Captain and his crew took a couple of minutes off the set to visit the southeast London school.
Johnny Depp’s visit grants a 10 minute warning apparently
Johnny Depp decided last minute that he was going to visit the school while he had been already dressed up in his Jack Sparrow outfit. The school was given a 10 minute notice that Depp and a few other actors would be showing up in their pirate outfits. The students were called into an emergency assembly at the Meridian School. All the sudden pirates were walking to the assembly. Captain Jack Sparrow had been at the front. All the students were really excited to see the surprise guest walking in.
No mutiny at Meridian
Captain Jack was written to in hopes that mutiny would end. There wasn’t any actual mutiny though. A pirate song had been sung by Jack Sparrow. All the students danced along with it. Johnny Depp then called Beatrice Delap up to the front. Sparrow/Depp told the student that they couldn’t rebel. He said, “Maybe we shouldn’t mutiny today because there are police outside monitoring me.” Depp posed for photos with the children after giving Delap a hug knowing he had two kids at home.
